Rolex Chronograph: Grandfather Of The Rolex Daytona
The Rolex Chronograph Reference 6234 was introduced in 1955–coincidentally, the same years Rolex introduced the Rolex GMT Master.
The Rolex Chronograph Reference 6234 was made from 1955 to 1961, and during those 6 years Rolex averaged approximately 500 per year. The Reference 6234 is the great grandfather of the modern stainless steel Rolex Daytona.
Eddie Murphy is probably the funniest comedian that every lived and he has worn a yellow gold Rolex Day-Date with a diamond bezel for more than a quarter century. Eddie first became a comedy superstar on Saturday Night Live and we see him pictured below on the set of SNL in 1983 sporting his trademark yellow gold Rolex President with a diamond bezel and matching bracelet.
This next photo was taken in 1987 when Eddie Murphy was putting his footprint in the sidewalk during the ceremony at Gramens Chinese Theater in 1987.

On the cover of People magazine (pictured below) we see Eddie with his wife who is wearing a female version of his yellow gold Rolex.

Well it's been an interesting week to say the least, and now Muammar Gaddafi belongs to the ages. Muammar Gaddafi certain lived an interesting life. He took over Libya in 1969 in a coup when he was only 27 years old. He ruled Libya for 42 years. We see Muammar Gaddafi in the photo below from 1971 wearing his Rolex Datejust.
Supposedly Libya has an oil reserve today of 440 Billion barrels of oil, which is worth somewhere around $4 Trillion dollars. Just to put things in perspective, the U.S. National debt is currently around $15 Trillion.

Walter Cronkite was born in 1916 and lived the most amazing life and recently passed away at 92 years of age. What an amazing life he lived!!!! America's Uncle Walt–as he was affectionally called–wore a two-tone Rolex Datejust.

Walter Cronkite is pictured in the next two photos interviewing the legendary U.S. Navy SEA-LAB diver, Bob Barth. Bob Barth was a the only diver who dove on all the SEA-LAB 1, SEA-LAB 2, and SEA-LAB 3 missions. Bob Barth co-developed the Rolex SEA-DWELLER with Rolex and we see him being interviewed below in 1968 by Walter Cronkinte.
