The Rolex Reference 1680 Submariner was the first Submariner to have add a date complication along with the date magnifier. The 1680 was preceded by the 551X Subs which included the 5510, 5512 (COSC), 5513 (Non-COSC), 5514 (Comex with helium release valve) and 5517 (Milsub).
